The Swiss Classic Train can be hauled by electric, diesel or steam locomotives. It is UIC approved and fully equipped to operate, if required, independently from the railway power source. Heating is both electric and steam, thus allowing steam haulage winter and summer.
The owners of the Swiss Classic Train also have available for rent an ex SNCF 141R Mikado steam locomotive.
